Person-Centred Therapy
Is a humanistic non directive approach to counselling and focuses on the here and now, it encourages clients to explore further their own thoughts and feelings and to create positive changes to themselves. The client and counsellor relationship is open, honest, and non-judgemental. The development of the trust and understanding between the client and counsellor enables the client to become more self-aware of their difficulties and work towards positive solutions.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Is a more directive approach and focuses on the clients thoughts, feelings and behaviour and raises their awareness of how to take control and stop their negative thoughts and break their pattern and routine.
Being an Integrated Counsellor, I am able to work with any approach and I adapt the sessions to meet the clients individual needs and work towards a positive outcome which they will be able to manage and deal with on a daily basis.
